Overview

The Director of Program Management is a member of the MLS Digital team who is involved in product development from strategic inception to tactical execution. S/he must be passionate about creating a best-in-class multi-platform digital experience for soccer fans and learning about next generation technology and how fans want it delivered. MLS Digital creates cutting edge products and content for soccer fans across North America including websites, mobile applications, connected television applications, fantasy games, APIs and more.                                                  

Reporting to the VP of Digital Products, the Director of Program Management will ensure the product development team has the tools, resources, and skills to deliver effectively. This will be a key role in driving the digital and innovation strategy forward at MLS.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of all product roadmaps and commitments.
  • Ensures consistency in execution across portfolio of products and work streams.
  • Standardizes processes for managing schedule, scope, risks, and dependencies.
  • Performs risk assessment, risk mitigation, escalation of issues, communication and problem resolution across projects.
  • Maintains accountability for the overall health of the Product Program.
  • Communicate status of projects and risks to various levels of stakeholders.
  • Helps resolve issues and blockers that impact project delivery.
  • Manage the department budget and provide transparency on project spend.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with product development and project management
  • Experience working in the media + entertainment industry
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Ability to work and communicate clearly and effectively with both business stakeholders and technology teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently
  • Experience configuring and managing Jira
  • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
