Overview

To assist with the continuing development of MLS Medical, the move to an Account Manager platform is essential. This will help push the growth and development of MLS medical.

Responsibilities

    • Primary operational liaison (Medical Account Manager) between Club Athletic Trainers, team physicians.
    • Provide Operational support for Mexico National Team (MNT) and other SUM International properties
    • Provide Operational support for all MLS Marquee events, including, Combine and the Annual Medical Symposium.
    • Provide support and advice to Internal MLS departments, as well as External venue liaison, including vendors and contractors.
    • Ensure proper licensing and insurance of all Club medical staff.
    • Monitor and enforce where appropriate compliance to MLS Policies and Procedures Manual.
    • Assist in the responsibilities for HealtheAthlete, including reporting and content.
    • Assist in the analytics of League injury data for trends and best practices.
    • Coordinate research projects and league protocols focused on reducing time lost due to injury.
    • Collaborate in the continued development of the Medical Operations Manual, as well as Best Practice development.
    • Analyze individual Club medical practices, procedures and structure.
    • Organize and assist medical committees.
    • Awareness of all pertinent projects within the MLS medical department.
    • Assist with organization and management of MLS medical consultants.
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate and present status of Club and League structure.
    • Manage hiring and onboarding process by interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training employees
      • Accomplish team results by communicating job expectations and managing the Performance Management process:
      • Plan, monitor, and review performance;
      • Coach and counsel employees;
      • Develop and implement department procedures and productivity standards and reinforce Company policies
  • Develop personal growth opportunities for employees

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree in health-related field preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in an administrative role
  • 3 years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer in a sports environment preferred

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

 Desired Skills

  • Experience caring for high level athletes (collegiate, professional, Olympic)
  • Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer
