Safety and Security Operations



The Senior Coordinator, will collect information and statistics from regular season games, as well as selected International games. This information will be used as intelligence to target issues, shaping security policy and best practice as the league continues to grow and evolve. 


  • Provide Security Support as required to the following:
    • Domestic Operations, Soccer Operations Center, and the Crisis Management Process
    • MLS Marquee events (All-Star and Cup)
    • International Operations Team, Mexico National Team, and other SUM International Properties
  • Coordinate Risk and Vulnerability Assessments across MLS/SUM events.
  • Coordinate and participate in security meetings and provide reports and presentations where appropriate
  • Liaise as directed with internal and external partners, vendors and contractors, including venue’s local, state and federal police
  • Tracking and analysis of incidents across all MLS/SUM Events
  • Report Monitoring (Soccer Security Agents – Post-Match Safety Reports)
  • Monitoring social media
  • Monitoring and Managing the disposal of enquiries and investigations
  • Producing management reports and presentations to drive discussion on safety & security policy and best practice

 Additional Responsibilities

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the VP Safety & Security.
  • Potential for occasional field deployments

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, Business, Analytics or a relevant related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Safety & Security (Sports)

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database Management and Outlook
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

 Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer
