The Senior Coordinator, Domestic Operations is responsible for performing duties related to MLS Operations (primarily Stadium Operations and Match Operations) for Major League Soccer regular season, playoffs and marquee events.


  • Project lead Stadium and/or Match Operations at MLS marquee events (including MLS Combine, MLS All-Star and MLS Cup)
  • Perform the role of operational Account Manager to assigned MLS Clubs and maintain positive relationships and open communication with Club counterparts
  • Collect, track and interpret requested data sets for MLS regular season matches
  • Update and maintain operational policy documents including, but not limited to, the MLS Operations Manual, the MLS Playoff Guidelines and the MLS Cup Guidelines
  • Attend venue site visit inspections as part of Account Manager duties, Expansion Club stadium builds, and/or marquee event planning and present feedback to the department
  • Serve in the NYC Soccer Operations Center department rotation, covering all MLS regular season games (and international matches when necessary) to facilitate crisis management
  • Manage one or more planning aspects of the annual MLS Operations & Security Seminar, including sponsorship generation, social event planning and/or content creation
  • Create executive-level presentations and event decks

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties such as processing payment for vendors and third parties
  • Supervise department intern(s), if applicable
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of Soccer United Marketing (SUM) international events including the support of stadium and match operations, as needed
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Manager


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience (Preferably in events and/or operations within the sports industry)

  • Experience in event planning and execution
  • Communication skills and a confidence to present verbal and written presentations and briefings to both internal and external key stakeholders
  • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task across multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work remotely and meet deadlines with minimal supervision


Desired Skills

  • Master’s degree in Sport Management, Sports Administration, or a related field
  • Knowledge of the Spanish language (business proficiency)
  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer
