    The Senior Manager, Social Media is a leader within the social media team, helping to position the League as the most engaging and innovative sports brand in social media. The role will focus on providing a rich content experience to MLS fans.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    Content Creation

    • Deliver on-site social media content to fans, either through travel to matches or coordination of in-market creators
    • Coordinate with full MLS Content team on ideation, timing, and execution of social and other content programs
    • Develop and distribute video content for MLS with an emphasis on MLS social media channels
    • Create graphics, animated GIFs, videos, and other visual content that align with the user habits within each community
    • Support league and club digital and communications initiatives

     Content Ecosystem

    • Collaborate across the enterprise on strategies that leverage players, partners, influencers, and/or celebrities to achieve enterprise-wide KPIs
    • Serve as social media liaison for MLS Creators Matrix
    • With Director, Social Media and Manager, Social Media, help implement and manage a content collaboration and distribution program with players, clubs and other stakeholders  

    Management

    • Manage hiring and onboarding process by interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training of employees as assigned
    • Manage staff members and develop personal growth opportunities for employees.
    • Accomplish team results by communicating job expectations and managing the Performance Management process:
      • Plan, monitor, and review performance;
      • Coach and counsel employees;
      • Develop and implement department procedures and productivity standards and reinforce Company policies

    Miscellaneous

    • Assist in daily monitoring, management and maintenance of the MLS social media communities
    • Plan and activate unique, innovative programming at key league events
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 7-8+ years of experience in social media, communications or marketing

    Required Skills

    • Trailblazing attitude, a creative spirit, and a passion for storytelling
    • Prior corporate experience utilizing social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere and/or Photoshop), Excel and PowerPoint
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
    • Passionate about providing fans with a great digital experience by listening, interacting and producing innovative content
    • Knowledge of MLS and US Soccer
    • Previous experience managing, motivating and developing direct reports
    • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
    • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
    • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
    • Ability and willingness to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (this position will require working most weekends throughout the MLS season) 

    Desired Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of HTML coding
    • Business proficiency in Spanish and/or French
