  • Overview

    The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the MLS medical team, primarily the Medical Administrator.  The role will involve the administration and audit of the leagues Electronic Medical Records, along with some basic analysis, the result being the use of the information to shape Policy, Best Practice and the ability to increase efficiency in the processes surrounding Workers Compensation and Insurance related matters.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage league’s Electronic Medical Records
      • Collect and analyze worker’s compensation data
    • Serve in the NYC “Soccer Operations Center” department rotation covering all MLS regular season games (and international matches when necessary)
    • Leads projects as assigned for marquee events (MLS All-Star and Cup and Medical Combine)
    • Preparation and execution of the annual “Operations and Security Seminar Conference” for all MLS clubs
    • Organize biannual meetings for MLS Consultants
    • Attend weekly departmental operations meetings and provide department notes
    • Oversee logistics and shipping for the MLS Medical team
    • Attend venue site visit inspections as required
    • Perform administrative duties such as processing payment for vendors and third parties

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 3-5+ years of experience in events and/or operations (preferably within the sports industry)

    • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access
    • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
    • Communication skills and a confidence to present verbal and written presentations and briefings to both internal and external key stakeholders
    • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Ability to work remotely

     Desired Skills

    • Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
    • Knowledge of the sport of soccer
