    The Professional Referee Organization (PRO) is an independent company responsible for administering professional referee programs in North America. PRO is dedicated to the identification, training, assessment, assignment, and employment of male and female professional soccer officials. We provide our services to North American professional soccer leagues, CONCACAF and FIFA competitions.

     

    As the head of Human Resources, you will be responsible for building the HR function for PRO. This position is a leadership position responsible for establishing and coordinating all aspects of the human resources function, including recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, payroll processes, compensation, benefits, safety and compliance.

    Responsibilities

    • Create human resources strategy and participate in the development of organizational goals, objectives and systems as it relates to the HR function.
    • Conduct new-employee orientation, formalize and manage onboarding process, create career-path program including but not limited to performance management, oversee all employee relations, essential staff training, terminations and exit interviews.
    • Manage full-cycle recruitment for all exempt, non-exempt and temporary workers; write and post job descriptions and work with department leadership to screen and interview candidates.
    • Implement compensation benchmarks and conduct annual salary surveys to analyze trends.
    • Develop, recommend and implement employee policies and procedures; prepare and maintain employee handbook.
    • Manage benefits administration for all employees and annually re-evaluate for cost-effectiveness.
    • Develop and maintain affirmative action program; file EEO-1 annually; maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws; including but not limited to unemployment insurance, New York State Disability and New York State Family Leave.
    • Manage all visas for US and Canadian officials.
    • Plan, organize and manage all staffing events, participate in staff meetings and attend relevant seminars.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources
    • Broad knowledge of human resource function, state and federal laws and regulations regarding employment, wages and leaves.
    • Knowledge of all applicable Federal and State employment laws and regulations.
    • Recruitment and onboarding experience.
    • Excellent data management and reporting skills coupled with strong knowledge of HR systems.
    • Ability to develop and implement new processes and policies.
    • Experience with managing union contracts, agreements and negotiations.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills.
    • Experience creating centralized employee records and performance management.
    • Experience creating compensation benchmarks and bonus pools.
    • Operate with a high degree of confidentiality and interpersonal interaction.
    • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
    • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
    • Ability to travel occasionally
