  • Overview

    This position will be integral to the improvement of our product quality and will advocate for the spirit, soul, and integrity of our competition primarily through the oversight of the Professional Match Evaluator (PME) Program.  The individual selected will need to use effective time management, be highly organized and employ problem-solving skills to lead, educate and develop a group of individuals that will be responsible for improving the standard of MLS. 



    • Observe and evaluate MLS matches for disciplinary incidents and referee performance
    • Track, document, investigate and report incidents from the referee match reports
    • Process Officiating Evaluation Reports for the purpose of referee performance evaluation
    • Lead and manage the PME program
    • Assist with research, statistical analysis, and the drafting of reports and power point presentations in competition related areas
    • Liaise with MLS Clubs, USSF and CONCACAF
    • Liaise with all data providers
    • Interpret and assist in the enforcement of the Competition Guidelines
    • Manage hiring and onboarding process by interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training employees
    • Accomplish team results by communicating job expectations and managing the Performance Management process:
      • Plan, monitor, and review performance;
      • Coach and counsel employees;
      • Develop and implement department procedures and productivity standards and reinforce Company policies
    • Develop personal growth opportunities for employees
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned


    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 5+ years of experience
    • Strong understanding of the technical aspects of soccer
    • Deep knowledge and interest in Major League Soccer, our teams, players and rules
    • Strong research and writing skills
    • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
    • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
    • Knowledge of the Spanish language (business proficiency)
