  • Overview

    The Senior Coordinator, Domestic Operations is responsible for performing duties related to Operations (Stadium Operations, Match Operations, and Match Presentation) for Major League Soccer regular season, playoffs and marquee events (MLS All-Star and MLS Cup).

    Responsibilities

    • As Project Lead, coordinate the planning and execution of the MLS Playoffs and specifically all operational aspects of the MLS Conference Finals
    • As Project Lead, update and maintain all operational documents including, but not limited to, the MLS Operations & Security Manual and the MLS Playoff and Cup Guidelines
    • Perform the role of operations “Account Manager” to a select number of MLS clubs
    • Attend venue site visit inspections as required as part of being an Account Manager
    • Serve in the NYC “Soccer Operations Center” department rotation covering all MLS regular season games (and international matches when necessary)
    • Assist the project lead for marquee events (MLS All-Star and Cup) and lead on ancillary events
    • Assist Club Travel & Operations with administrative duties as needed
    • Attend weekly departmental operations meetings and provide department notes
    • Perform administrative duties such as processing payment for vendors and third parties

     

    Qualifications

    Additional Responsibilities

     

    • Assist in the supervision of department intern(s)
    • Assist in the preparation and delivery of Soccer United Marketing (SUM) international events including oversight of game operations and match presentation, if and when needed
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, Sports Administration, or a related field
    • 3-5+ years of experience in events and/or operations (preferably within the sports industry)

    Required Skills

    • Confidence to present verbal and written presentations and briefings to both internal and external key stakeholders
    • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access
    • Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task across multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
    • Ability to work remotely
    • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

     Desired Skills

     

    • Experience in event planning and execution
    • Knowledge of the Spanish language (business proficiency)
    • Knowledge of the sport of soccer
