  • Overview

    The Director, International TV & Digital Distribution is responsible for the day-to-day oversight, growth and development of MLS’s global media rights business.

    Responsibilities

    • Proactively manage relationships with international agency and key media partners around the globe to help build MLS’s business outside of the US
    • Develop relationships with new and existing international media partners
    • Integrate MLS marketing sales priorities and initiatives with international media partners, including developing and implementing marketing and promotional campaigns
    • Explore and develop new international media business opportunities, including assistance with creating marketing and sales collateral
    • Oversee production service providers to ensure quality delivery of world feed telecasts
    • Oversee game selection process with international media partners and production service providers
    • Participate in the budget and business planning process, including creation of business planning and review documents and presentations
    • Prepare presentations and reports as required 
    • Distribution of consumer products for marketing initiatives (e.g., sweepstakes) and partner gifting 
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 8+ years of experience
    • 5+ years of experience in international media distribution with a sports property or media rights agency
    • Excellent account relationship, negotiation and maintenance skills
    • Hands on experience in developing distribution strategies for all media platforms
    • Strong understanding of international media landscape, with soccer media landscape knowledge preferred
    • Industry relationships with international media partners
    • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytic skills
    • Strong leadership ability
    • Strong ability to lead cross functional projects and teams
    • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
    • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
    • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
