Manager, Safety & Security (International)

The Manager will assist with the delivery of safety and security standards at international matches for Soccer United Marketing (SUM).  This position supports several internal and external stakeholders in the preparation and execution phases of the events.  This position will work closely with SUM across all international fixtures.


  • Use an intelligence led, risk-based approach to identify best practices to mitigate and deter predictable challenges.
  • Coordinate with venue security and their partners to ensure:
    • Coordination of Police escorts for teams and officials
    • Proper security staffing based on requested allocations
    • Information sharing on prior fan trends and patterns
  • Support Crisis Management training and orientation for Concacaf and other external stakeholders
  • Support ongoing efforts to eradicate homophobic fan chant
  • Assist in managing Soccer Security Agent call ups related to the event
  • Review available information and provide ongoing security recommendations related to event safety improvement
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Manager (international)
  • Site visit and match deployment travel


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management or Business
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Safety & Security (Sports)

  • Functional knowledge of comprehensive safety and security procedures:
    • Risk assessment methodology
    • Active and passive Security measures
    • Data capture, analysis, and dissemination
  • High quality work, organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database Management and Outlook
  • Demonstrated solutions-oriented approach
  • Ability to work in a decentralized landscape with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a composite team from venue to venue
  • Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work with and incorporate cultural priorities related to national teams and international fixtures.
  • Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
