This Senior Director position leads the marketing and promotion for the MLS brand, MLS Big Events, and other enterprise initiatives, ensuring that campaign efforts are joined up across the organization, effective in reaching KPI’s, and stand out in a crowded environment.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and own day-to-day marketing relationship with media partners, including existing linear fulfillment such as TV tune-in asset production, as well as establishing marketing workflows with new media partners (Apple) with an emphasis on subscription marketing needs
  • Direct marketing efforts and development of holistic marketing plans related to the promotion of MLS Big Events (MLS All-Star, Rivalry Week, Playoffs, etc.), from creative to local brand activations to outdoor advertising and beyond, driving against specific event attendance goals, and creating ownable, breakthrough moments
  • Spearhead influencer marketing, rooting MLS in culture and transcending beyond sports
  • Help develop the MLS seasonal brand campaign, shaping strategy and creative, with a focus on roll-out and implementation
  • Develop and oversee execution of NFT marketing for MLS marketplace and related drops

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide marketing leadership and expertise for sub-brand (digital products, consumer products, eMLS, etc.) campaigns as needed
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years marketing experience


  • Deep understanding and love of culture
  • Demonstrated marketing expertise having led successful and complicated consumer campaigns
  • Ability to synthesize wide-ranging activity into clear, concise, and compelling plans
  • Strong communicator and confident presenting in any environment to any audience
  • Interest and familiarity with soccer
  • Energetic and collaborative spirit, creating positive environment where others want to join in
  • Adaptable
  • High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
