Overview

Major League Soccer is looking for a passionate, experienced, and motivated person to join our growing Technology team. This position will be instrumental to the success of the technology initiatives of Major League Soccer. Reporting to the VP, Technology Operations, they will serve in a key management role that supports the League’s technology roadmap. The Director is responsible for all operations relating to Data Center Solutions, Enterprise Storage, Business Continuity, Systems Administration, Digital Content Infrastructure, and other League Wide Technology initiatives. The Director will partner with their counterparts across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures our systems infrastructure is designed for high-availability, scaling and with a keen focus on utilizing security best practices
  • Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
  • Analyzes infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
  • Implements Monitoring and Alerting solutions for all infrastructure and business applications
  • Establishes best practices for server/workstation/solution deployment and centralized systems management
  • Oversees the automated patch management process for all servers and workstations
  • Establishes policy and process to support technology initiatives across the organization
  • Identifies and recommends new technology solutions to support the goals of the organization. Keeps up to date on current and emerging technologies and trends
  • Manages technology vendor relationships and licensing

Qualifications

  • 8+ years hands-on experience within an organization’s technology operations
  • Minimum 5+ years experience managing technology teams and related projects
  • Bachelor’s degree, relevant certifications and continuing education preferred
  • Deep understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases, and storage solutions
  • Expertise and Proficiency in the following areas:
    • Planning and implementation of the Microsoft Server stack on premise and in cloud
    • Automation, scripting, and PowerShell based solutions
    • Hypervisor/Hyperconverged Environments
    • SAN solutions
    • Active Directory, Group Policy Management, SSCM
    • Microsoft Azure Cloud solutions
    • Microsoft O365 Administration: InTune, Exchange, OneDrive for Business, Teams, SharePoint
  • Familiarity with SSO solutions
  • Proficiency working with software & project management tools (Jira, Asana, etc.)
  • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to present and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • High level of commitment to quality results and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
  • Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Desired Skills

  • Proficiency in AWS Cloud solutions
  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer
  • Okta SSO
