Overview

The Coordinator, Player Relations is responsible for player administration as it relates primarily to player contracts and all related payments. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with player administration (e.g. P1 Visa processing, player registration, player database updates, maintenance of files, etc.)
  • Manage the MLS player entry mechanism process (e.g. Trades, Discovery, Allocation Ranking, Right of First Refusal, Waivers, etc.)
  • Assist in preparation of documents for player proposals
  • Monitor international player registration and visa status
  • Assist in responding to player and agent inquiries
  • Assist in organizing communication with clubs (e.g. Waivers, Re-Entry Draft, Rosters)
  • Assist with research, preparation of analysis and PowerPoint presentations on player areas
  • Liaise with MLS Players Association
  • Provide support at MLS events
  • Interpret and assist in the enforcement of the MLS Roster & Budget Guidelines
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-2 years of experience

  • Deep knowledge and interest in Major League Soccer, our teams, players and rules
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills (excel, power point, general data entry, etc)
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible with work schedule

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of the Spanish/Portuguese Language (business proficiency)
  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer
  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
