The Manager, Compensation & Benefits (Total Rewards) will craft, plan, and implement benefit, wellness, and compensation programs, policies and procedures. They will also contribute to the development of Total Rewards strategies that will support the organization and conduct various market pricing analyses to ensure employee pay and benefits are competitively aligned to the external market.


  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team when negotiating offers for open roles and assist with overall project management of salary review processes across all Departments
  • Partner with Senior Director, Total Rewards to develop appropriate job measurement mechanisms to underpin the reward infrastructure
  • Manage the process of job evaluation and grading, including making day to day recommendations within the MLS grading framework
  • Lead all aspects of salary surveys and salary data audits to ensure compensation objectives are achieved
  • Support the administration of Employee Benefits for both Players and League Office staff
  • Assist Manager, Benefits, managing vendor relationships with external consultants, partners and brokers
  • Partner with Manager, Benefits and HR to further improve Benefits programs such as PTO, Wellbeing, Woman’s Health and Working Family initiatives
  • Ensure the existing Compensation & Benefits framework is communicated and understood by all partners
  • Educate and advise business facing HR staff with Compensation & Benefits strategies, principles and implementation challenges
  • Keep up to date on industry trends by establishing channels, forums, and processes
  • Develop and continuously improve links between performance and reward, specifically bonus programs and pay
  • Support the design and implementation of new Compensation & Benefits policies, and initiatives to support strategic objectives
  • Liaise with HCM Technical Specialist and IT team to enhance Workday Compensation and Benefit Module functionality
  • Assist in the development and creation of People Analytics reporting with key HR team members
  • Lead Compensation & Benefits projects as required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+years demonstrable experience in Total Rewards
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Experience supporting Compensation and Benefits for an organization
  • Experience with compensation analysis and modeling, benefits, market pricing and job evaluation methodologies
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential material
  • Outstanding organization, project management skills and attention to detail with a high level of dedication to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
  • Effective communication skills-both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Experience with HCM or Compensation Planning systems and benefit enrollment platforms.

Desired Skills

  • Spanish speaking
  • CEBS or CCP/World at Work certification or equivalency

Total Rewards


Starting Base Salary: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
