MLS is looking for a passionate, organized, and detail-oriented information security engineer to join the Information Security Office. The security engineer will drive the security awareness program, correlate threat intelligence to actionable security events, and participate in incident response efforts. This Information security role is responsible for protecting MLS staff, digital assets, and the brand by collaborating with teams across the enterprise and maintaining the technology assets that safeguard the organization.

The Individual in this role will proactively identify and manage risk by educating staff on current cyber-attack tactics, techniques, and procedures while performing a basic level of cyber analysis on security alerts and integrating indicators of compromise (IOCs) into sensors and SIEM.  Problem-solving and the ability to adapt current processes to meet project goals and requirements are essential elements of this position.


  • Demonstrate an understanding of information systems security, including network, application, database, physical, web vulnerabilities, and common security design flaws
  • Monitor and identify the top human risks and develop relevant security awareness campaigns that further staff and contractor’s knowledge and understanding of best practices
  • Manage regularly scheduled vulnerability scanning, penetration testing and remediation of identified issues
  • Provide security engineering analysis on a variety of information systems
  • Leverage technology, audit trails, reporting, and investigative skills to respond to requests and resolve security incidents
  • Use internal systems and external sources (OSINT) to monitor risks that could have an adverse impact on organizational assets, facilities, and personnel
  • Possess an understanding of government regulatory and compliance requirements and, risk management framework processes
  • Provide regular updates to management and Technology department leads on security events
  • Create\update support tickets to verify and track incidents


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science desired
  • CompTIA Network+ 
  • Minimum of two to three years of experience in information security
  • Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and common security elements
  • Experience developing and delivering security awareness programs
  • Expertise and proficiency with tools such as SIEM, EDR, DLP, SSO, MFA, UEBA
  • Working knowledge of common information security standards, such as CIS CSC, ISO 27001/27002, NIST, PCI DSS, HIPPA
  • Demonstrated commitment to training, self-study, and maintaining proficiency in the technical information security domain
  • Ability to lead security projects and collaborate with MLS business units
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to create technical reports on analytical findings
    Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated decision making and solutions oriented
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Desired Skills

  • Experience working within a NOC
  • CISSP Certification
  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer
