Position Summary

MLS (Major League Soccer) Player Development Senior Coordinator will help aid MLS initiatives to further build and improve upon player development in North America. The position within the Player Development Department will support and coordinate all aspects of coaching education and performance.



  • Facilitate, organize, and coordinate MLS Coaching Education programs across MLS Player Development properties including but not limited to Elite Formation Coaching License, MLS Next and other Player Development initiatives related to performance
  • Deliver and operate as liaison for MLS Coaching Education courses designed in collaboration with partners based domestically as well as those international (i.e., USSF).
  • Administer mentoring programs to support those committed in coaching coursework.
  • Support MLS Player Development in database design and management with emphasis in tracking of coaching licensing and education specifications.
  • Support process of evaluating prospective and existing MLS NEXT coaches.
  • Helps lead and manage homegrown player list.
  • Participate in MLS identification and scouting initiatives.
  • Support process of evaluating MLS NEXT clubs and standards.
  • Coordinate with MLS, Soccer United Marketing, and MLS NEXT to support coaching education initiatives and provide general assistance at related events.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience

Required Skills

  • USSF A/B license or international equivalent (instructor license preferred)
  • Experience in Coaching Education and/or Education
  • Experience in coaching within North America or abroad
  • Proficiency in IT platform dedicated to online teaching
  • High-level commitment to a high-quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Commitment to building positive team environments, and to working effectively within such teams
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet timelines
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge and interest in Major League Soccer and player development
  • Knowledge of video content collection and editing is a plus
  • Knowledge of additional languages is a plus

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary: $58,500 – $65,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
