Overview

The Properties & Emerging Ventures Team at Major League Soccer (“MLS”) plan and execute MLS Big Events and League platforms, the most visible moments for our league throughout the year. Such events drive fandom and commercial growth and include MLS All-Star, MLS Skills Challenge, MLS Playoffs & Cup, and MLS SuperDraft.

 

The Senior Coordinator, Properties will be a key member of the team leading the platform planning process cross functionally. The role will focus on leading project timelines, as well developing marketing and commercial frameworks, presentations, and other supporting assets.

Responsibilities

  • Support the long-term planning of MLS Big Events and League Platforms helping to own the development of internal planning documents and delivery against project timelines
  • Support the day-to-day internal team communication across League office partners, including the management of weekly calls and planning of reoccurring planning meetings
  • Lead project timelines for MLS Big Events across departments and partners
  • Support the development and growth of new League initiatives, including development of materials to support sponsorship, content, digital/social media, and consumer products planning
  • Collaborate with partners to develop solutions that deliver for commercial partners
  • Maintain understanding of industry-leading commercial platforms and identify key findings that are relevant for development of League initiatives
  • Own the aggregation of promotional plans to drive attendance and engagement for MLS Big Events
  • Collaborate with internal team on the recap process through development of debriefing materials leveraging data to provide insights to internal and external partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 3+ years of marketing, sponsorship, or project management experience

 

Required Skills

  • Passion and knowledge of soccer and general sports marketplace
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally with team members of various departments
  • Outstanding PowerPoint and presentation-building skills, with strong attention to detail and an understanding of visual design principles
  • Strong project management capabilities to deliver against key timelines
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Dedication to building positive team dynamics and experience that demonstrates leadership skills
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet timelines
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to travel and occasionally work non-traditional hours

 

Desired Skills

  • Sports marketing experience
  • Knowledge of the game of soccer and a familiarity with the soccer ecosystem
  • Knowledge of additional languages a plus

 

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary: $58,500 – $65,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
