Vice President, Content Operations

Major League Soccer is the top-flight men’s professional soccer league in the United States and Canada. We aspire to be one of the top leagues in the world, as defined by our quality of play, the passion of our fans, the relevance of our clubs and the value of our enterprise.  In 2023, the league will be comprised of 29 clubs, with ongoing plans to expand to 30 clubs, will play the new and annual Leagues Cup tournament, and launched its worldwide streaming and marketing partnership with Apple.

Major League Soccer’s historic Apple partnership will allow fans to stream every MLS match through the Apple TV app worldwide. The new streaming service will also feature MLS NEXT, MLS NEXT Pro and Leagues Cup matches, alongside a rich offering of League, Tournament and Club content.

As part of this new partnership, MLS will be responsible for producing all live match and studio content for MLS Season Pass.  As a Video Editor, Sponsored Content, you will be responsible for creating and editing multiple video series sponsored by League sponsors. The Video Editor will work within the content operations group at MLS and with some of the most prestigious brands in the world to deliver premium video highlights and visual stories to an international audience of fans.

• Edit video footage and audio for multiple weekly projects that run on web and social platforms
• Collaborate with MLS editorial and partnership marketing teams to develop and execute creative video concepts
• Ensure that all video content meets brand guidelines and creative visions
• Organize and maintain project files and media assets within the leagues asset management system
• Stay current with best practices in video editing
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3+ years of experience, with 2+ years of professional video editing

Required Skills

• Demonstrated expertise with Adobe Premiere, Adobe Media Encoder and Adobe After Effects
• Proficient with Adobe Photoshop
• Experience using an asset management system
• Ability to write and edit descriptions in English
• Ability to review and edit closed captions in English
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
• High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail with the proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of the sport of soccer, Major League Soccer a plus

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary: $58,500 – $65,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
