Position Summary

The Social Media Manager is responsible for helping position Major League Soccer as the most engaging and innovative sports brand in social media on TikTok. The Manager will have the exciting opportunity to work with the biggest emerging social media platform by overseeing MLS’ Creator Network, including the development of the MLS TikTok Club Creator Network: a breakthrough new program which will assign a designated TikTok content creator to different MLS clubs. This role will work directly with our partners at TikTok, MLS club social and digital leads, and with content creators.

• Manage relationship with all creators, from ideation to execution.
• Work directly with TikTok to source designated content creators for Club Creator Network.
• Plan, ideate and help deliver content across MLS League and Club TikTok channels as it pertains to Creator Content.
• Help manage the content calendar and day-to-day publishing of Creator content on TikTok.
• Collaborate with MLS Club digital and social leads on standard methodologies and performance on TikTok.
• Develop new strategies for growing engagement and followers on MLS League and Club TikTok channels.
• Manage and execute programming around key events involving Content Creators, including but not limited to MLS All-Star, Decision Day, and MLS Cup, while working cross-departmentally to ensure all organizational objectives are met.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist in creating short-form video content for emerging platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
• Handle administrative responsibilities for processing contracts, invoices and payments for Content Creators.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of experience, with 2+ years of experience in Social Media, Marketing, or Communications

Required Skills

• Innovating attitude and creative spirit
• Strong experience with TikTok creation, trends, and influencer landscape
• Prior experience utilizing and managing corporate and/or team TikTok handles
• Prior experience crafting short-form content for TikTok, Reels and YouTube
• Knowledge of soccer, MLS, and MLS ecosystem
• Passion for experimenting with and staying up-to-date with new trends on TikTok
• Meticulous with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Passionate about providing fans with a great digital experience by listening, interacting and producing innovative content
• Outstanding organization, project management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
• Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary: $75,000 – $85,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
