Overview

The Director will collaborate closely with the VP Gaming, Collectibles, and Emerging Technology to drive the league's strategic planning and execution for video gaming and emerging digital products. Focus areas include AR, VR, Blockchain, and NFTs, representing key growth and fan engagement opportunities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative partnership models and best practices for growth.
  • Support overall league strategy for video gaming and emerging digital products.
  • Identify and execute new business opportunities across gaming platforms.
  • Lead partnership with EA to drive revenue and fan engagement.
  • Collaborate with partners to optimize marketing plans.
  • Support eMLS competitive gaming efforts.
  • Conduct research and financial analyses to support business growth.
  • Build and maintain a professional network in the gaming and technology space.
  • Collaborate with other MLS departments on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience, with 6+ years in gaming or related sectors.
  • Strong personal network within the gaming and technology space.

 

Required Skills

  • Strategic approach to business case development and risk-taking.
  • Experience in identifying and negotiating partnerships.
  • Understanding of gaming and eSports trends.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in contracts and legal processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours.

 

Desired Skills

  • Spanish language proficiency (business level).
  • Knowledge of soccer.

 

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary $115,000 - 150,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
