Overview

The Manager of Credentialing is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of accreditation for all Major League Soccer and SUM events. This position collaborates with MLS Security and MLS Communications to develop efficient credentialing systems tailored for each event, including MLS All-Star Week, Leagues Cup, MLS Cup, and the regular season, as well as events like MexTour.

Responsibilities

  • Work with MLS Legal to create comprehensive guidelines for every MLS and SUM Event.
  • Identify appropriate vendors to build out an accreditation platform to be used for all MLS and SUM Events
  • Leads relationship with Venue Managers to oversee all access control devices to include credentials and wristbands.
  • Main point of contact for all credentialing inquiries. Manage all internal communications and memos regarding application processes.
  • Host yearly credentialing workshops ensuring internal stakeholders are compliant with the credentialing processes.
  • Lead the credential approval process for all MLS and SUM events.
  • Oversee the credential office for all MLS and SUM events to include managing and scheduling credential staff.        
  • Responsible for the ordering, inventory and management of credentialing equipment (e.g., lanyards, ink, wristbands, etc.).
  • Manage yearly credential budget per property and tracks all expenses.
  • Process all invoices related to credentials to include vendors and staff.
  • Collaborate with MLS creative to design artwork for each event.
  • Design a credential timeline to ensure that all systems are built and tested to meet internal deadlines.
  • Manage internal Club database to ensure the League Office has access to all pertinent credential information for all MLS Clubs.
  • Primary on-call contact during all MLS and SUM events when not on-site for all credential inquiries.
  • Travel to all assigned MLS and SUM events to effectively run and operate the credential office.
  • Assist in the operation of the MLS Soccer Operation Center.
  • Assist with Department inventory efforts to include storage and shipping.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in operations with a focus on credential management

 

Required Skills

  • Must be a team player, be self-motivated and results driven, and able to own projects from conception through execution.
  • High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing online credential database platforms
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database experience

 

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer
  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

 

Total Rewards:

Starting Base Salary: $75,000 – $85,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
