Major League Soccer (MLS) seeks innovative, talented and passionate students to contribute to the growth of Soccer in North America.

Player Finance works alongside Player Relations, Legal, Tax, and Finance to understand and record the financial effects of Player transactions (transfers, loans, terminations, trades, etc.). This group ensures that the financial effects of these events are properly captured, recorded, and comply with League and statutory rules and regulations.

Located at the League Office Headquarters in New York City, the Summer Intern Program is a 10-week program that runs from June 3rd-August 5th.  Interns will be a part of an inclusive culture that encourages teamwork and collaboration, values diversity and promotes creativity.

• Ensure Clubs are compliant with Roster & Budget Compliance processes (e.g., reviewing and evaluating disclosures, testing appropriateness against League rules and Regulations).
• Assist with Player Accounting functions (e.g., monthly close, Player Expense tracking, Club Settlements, etc.) and work cross functionally with Player Finance, Accounting, Tax, and/or Legal to research possible Roster & Budget Guideline violations and document their findings.
• Support annual club financing reporting process.
• Support with ad-hoc financial analysis.
• Assist with annual budgeting process

• Undergraduate rising senior
• Recent college graduate
• Currently enrolled in a post-graduate program

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
• High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Must commit to attend full 10-week program
• Bilingual in Spanish or French a plus

TOTAL REWARDS

Major League Soccer offers an hourly salary of $20 based on a 40-hour work week.
