Overview

Major League Soccer (MLS) seeks innovative, talented and passionate students to contribute to the growth of Soccer in North America.

 

The Player Relations team is responsible for all aspects of player signings and administration. The work falls into three main areas: (1) implementation/oversight of league roster and budget rules, player administration and salary cap management; (2) player transaction legal matters and compliance; and (3) domestic player pathways.

 

Located at the League Office Headquarters in New York City, the Summer Intern Program is a 10-week program that runs from June 3rd-August 5th.  Interns will be a part of an inclusive culture that encourages teamwork and collaboration, values diversity and promotes creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Work with VP to collect and organize player pathway information.
  • Compile player pathway data, including player movement and performance.
  • Track top prospects and departure risks.
  • Collect and assess information on domestic outgoing players.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to analyze HG signings and non-signings.
  • Prepare reports on player pool, ROI, opportunities.
  • Maintain scouting information on pathway players.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate rising senior
  • Recent college graduate
  • Currently enrolled in a post-graduate program

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Must commit to attend full 10-week program
  • Bilingual in Spanish or French a plus

TOTAL REWARDS

Major League Soccer offers an hourly salary of $20 based on a 40-hour work week.
