Overview

The Senior Orchestration Engineer at Major League Soccer is a deeply hands-on role responsible for the technical advancement of our ServiceNow platform and related ecosystem. This individual contributor role emphasizes platform architecture, integrations, and workflow automation.

 

You'll collaborate across Product, Engineering, SysOps, NetOps, InfraOps, InfoSec, Enterprise Applications & Client Services teams to evolve our ServiceNow implementation from a foundational ITSM setup into a scalable orchestration engine. Your work will lay the groundwork for our upcoming ITOM/CMDB implementation and long-term operations automation strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead architect and technical expert for evolving our ServiceNow platform, including upcoming ITOM capabilities.
  • Design and implement integrations with platforms such as Datadog, Cypress, BrowserStack, Embrace, Asana, Jira, Okta, and ManageEngine App Manager/Endpoint Central.
  • Build and extend ServiceNow UI, Service Portals, workflows, business rules, and custom applications using scalable and upgrade-safe practices.
  • Drive cross-platform orchestration, automation, and event-driven workflows that reduce manual work and improve SLA performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess platform needs and translate business goals into functional and technical solutions.
  • Set standards for performance, reliability, security, and platform customization.
  • Act as the primary technical authority for ServiceNow initiatives, influencing roadmap and design without direct personnel management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 8+ years of experience required, with 6+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow, including deep involvement in ITSM, platform development, and integration.
  • ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS-ITSM, CAD, CIS-ITOM) is strongly preferred.
  • Required Skills
  • Strong experience with REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs).
  • Proven ability to integrate ServiceNow with third-party tools such as Datadog, Jira, Asana, Okta, and SharePoint.
  • Experience building Service Portals, complex catalog items, and custom UI components.
  • Familiarity with ITOM, CMDB architecture, and infrastructure monitoring concepts.
  • Ability to lead technical initiatives and guide the platform roadmap as a senior independent contributor.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities across platform architecture and workflow design.
  • Solid grasp of ITIL practices, Agile methodologies, and automation strategy.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Major League Soccer offers a competitive starting base salary of $150,000 - $185,000, based on individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
