About Major League Soccer Major League Soccer is the top-flight professional soccer league in the United States and Canada and began play in 1996, shortly after the U.S. hosted the 1994 FIFA World Cup. Now in its 27th season in 2022, MLS continues to grow at an explosive rate, as the league features record-breaking attendance, an influx of dynamic players, and billions of dollars recently invested in new soccer-specific stadiums and training facilities. New franchises have recently launched in Miami, Nashville, Austin, and Charlotte with St. Louis joining next. The League is aggressively expanding its influence and relevance with new youth and developmental leagues as well as a joint-venture with Liga MX, leading to new media deals like the game-changing 10-year global partnership with Apple starting in 2023.   About Soccer United Marketing The commercial arm of MLS, Soccer United Marketing (SUM) is the exclusive sales and marketing partner (i.e. rights holder) of the League as well as several other preeminent North American soccer properties – Concacaf Club and National Team competitions, U.S. Soccer Federation, Mexican National Team, Leagues Cup and Campeones Cup (i.e., joint ventures with Liga MX). SUM is at the forefront of the sport’s commercial development, and it’s the engine driving the League and its partner properties towards a successful run-up and legacy following the 2026 World Cup.   Position Summary As a member of MLS/SUM team, the Director, Brand Alliances will be responsible for strategizing, building, and executing an end-to-end partnership sales and retention strategy from short-term to long-term.  Based in New York, this position will work hand in hand with the Vice President, Brand Alliances to build sponsorship strategy and cultivate c-level relationships to bring value and profitability to grow the sport’s relevance, engage fans and maximize enterprise revenue.  This role will specifically help lead new enterprise sales efforts for the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) as well as Concacaf, home to the Men and Women’s Gold Cup, Champions League, Nations League Finals, and other premier regional Club and National Team competitions.

The Partner Media Management team manages the commercialization strategy and execution of media sponsorship and advertising efforts for MLS & SUM properties. As a department, PMM plays an important role in helping the larger MLS/SUM organization to articulate the value proposition of assets across owned, operated, and distributed media channels to both internal and external stakeholders, ultimately driving value for the enterprise, official marketing partners, and media partners.   The Director, Partner Media Management will work across functions and divisions to ensure the seamless development and execution of media sponsorship and advertising programs. From standard turn-key digital/social media executions across owned and operated channels, to content development and branded entertainment positions crafted for our most noteworthy official marketing partners, the Director will be responsible for a wide range of activation. Campaign assets will run across a variety of touch points, including Apple’s digital ecosystem, owned & operated mobile, app, and social media channels, plus emerging platforms. Although this function will focus mainly on MLS digital media sponsorships, it is incumbent upon this resource to partner with the sales marketing teams at Apple, our traditional broadcast partner networks, and content partners to support sponsored MLS brand positions where appropriate.

In this newly created role, the Senior Director, Player Well-Being & Clinical Services, is responsible for developing, leading, and managing systems and processes that support and promote the mental health and wellness for all players in MLS, MLS NEXT Pro, and MLS NEXT Academies.   You will have direct oversight of the mental health, clinical strategies and initiatives for the MLS ecosystem player population and create value by your expansive subject matter expertise and deep industry experience to design, lead and deliver integrated mental health solutions and outcomes. The Senior Director of Player Well-Being and Clinical Services shall serve as the principal liaison between Major League Soccer [“MLS”], Major League Soccer Players Association [“MLSPA”] and MLS Clubs on all mental health and wellness issues. In addition, you will assist the Senior Vice President of Player and League Advancement in the management and performance of a variety of executive, professional and administrative duties, including special projects and programs to support the day-to-day operations of the department.   In this position you will need to exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving issues with players, Clubs, and administrative staff.
