Major League Soccer (MLS) is launching a content production operation to support its new distribution deal with Apple TV.    The Lead Research role is responsible for the day-to-day research supporting Producers and Talent for match and studio content, creating and leading a research operation as part of the production of live matches and studio shows.  With the goal of enriching the storytelling within the programs, this role includes collecting, verifying and disseminating material while fact-checking, and ensuring accuracy of all on-air information.  It is critical that all information conforms to the League’s editorial guidelines.    Day-to-day tasks will include researching original content for full-screen graphics, player and statistical information to be used for anchor lead-ins and original pieces, as well as crafting and communicating information to the remote production teams.   The successful candidate will come to the role because of a love of soccer, the ability to write in a grammatically correct fashion and understanding of statistics and data.  Specific strengths in researching multiple sources of information, translating statistical data-points into meaningful information for the viewer, and ability to help develop interesting storylines are desired.

The Director of Communications for Leagues Cup is a fully bilingual media relations professional (English & Spanish) focused on earning media coverage and publicity for Leagues Cup domestically and internationally based on the overall marketing and brand message, creating the plan and policies for media operations for the tournament, and working with MLS and LIGA MX communications teams and the 47 participating clubs. This role plays an important part in the debut of the inaugural Leagues Cup in 2023.  The individual must have strong communications skills and a proven track record of creatively selling ideas and concepts resulting in story placements and media coverage. The Senior Manager, Apple Brand Portal / Digital Asset Manager, will be part of the MLS Creative Services team — within the Brand & Integrated Marketing Department — which services all internal constituents of the League and Soccer United Marketing (the commercial and operational branch of MLS representing other soccer-related properties), as well as our clubs, commercial partners and media partners. This role will help ensure that our broadcast partner, Apple, has access to the most recent and useful digital assets, including photos, logos, event marks and creative toolkits.
