The Manager, Social Media will join a team of award-winning social media creators at Major League Soccer (2019 Fast Company #2 Most Innovative Companies – Social Media Sector, 2018 Sports Business Awards – Best in Sports Social Media).
The ideal candidate is passionate about social media content and is excited to share the story of Major League Soccer with fans. This individual will have a trailblazing, creative spirit and a strong, adaptable voice both on and off social media. The candidate is a strong copywriter and knows their way around the Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Premiere). They will be able react quickly and tell a compelling story about what’s happening on the field, but also have an eye for captivating moments outside the white lines. This person will work with the social team to ensure that @MLS social media channels entertain, engage, inform and inspire soccer fans everywhere.
The Manager, Media Analytics will work with the Media team to optimize digital content and product performance. This person will maintain our analytics database and create and automate digital platform reporting. This person will work closely with the Media team to coach internal and external stakeholders on how best to use available data, to optimize content, and to increase traffic and engagement on digital platforms.
The Managing Editor oversees the day-to-day content production, workflow and operations of the league’s official website, mobile web and mobile app, guiding daily content and site production in collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief. Among the chief responsibilities of the Managing Editor: (1) content ideation, planning, programming and production for site and app; (2) managing, scheduling, assigning, on-boarding and coaching a team of staffers and freelancers; (3) overseeing site/app-specific budget; (4) creating content; (5) assessing content and platform performance metrics.
